todo el mundo en cuba habla de irse como uno en miami habla de ir a
pescar el fin de semana. los planes del futuro se plantean afuera.
incluso los que piensan volver quieren estar 24 meses donde sea para
regresar con algun dinero. y como la guerra ahora es virtual en el
ciberespacio, a la poblacion le importa un carajo esa batalla porque el
enemigo desembarco en la computadora, no en la playa; bombardeo el
email, no la ciudad. alla con quien quiera leer boberias y encima, hacerles
caso. esa mentalidad es positiva. ojo con las fuerzas armadas, que estan
en paro y tendran problema para el entri-sale. empezando porque un
ejercito desproporcionado no se mantiene sin tiroteo en ultramar y los
uniformados ociosos se vuelven chulos. la fuerza aerea fumigando y la
armada pescando langostas requiere de una dosis de imaginacion y
disciplina que no la tiene el guerrero tercermundista. pero a pesar de
eso, porque cuba ha estado constantemente atacada por algo o por
alguien, toda su estructura es la de un pais sitiado, en conflicto,
penetrado por enemigos, en constante movimiento de inteligencia y en
perenne defensa contra la maldad exterior. recuerdese que la maldad
exterior de ahora es la internet, pero antes hubo otras maldades
exteriores, y la penultima fue el terrorismo de miami. por eso hay 5
heroes empotrados en las paredes y las vallas publicas. es un
recordatorio a la maldad exterior, no al heroismo nacional. pero la
gente no se explica como 1 heroe recibe permiso para ir a la isla y
despues regresa a miami. como se supone que es heroe, es un simbolo para
el pueblo cubano, y ahi esta el arma de doble filo. miami, como quimera
dorada, es el centro de todo: de la maldad y el bien. en miami esta el
traidor, la prosperidad y el heroe. las 3 cosas juntas no las asimila el
pueblo. y por eso, de carambola digieren los ayunantes de aguacates,
los bloggers contestatarios, los disidentes con jabitas de embajada
americana y los almuerzos en casa de monserrate como extensiones del
regreso del heroe a miami. es la desmoralizacion total. el pueblo se
cuestiona si el heroe es tan heroe (heroe fuera si se quedara en cuba), y
si esa gente que pintan de malos en la television es -en verdad- tan
peligrosa, si es capaz de hackear la terminal de omnibus, meterse en la
intranet del comite central y joderles la merienda a los jerarcas o con una perreta callejera provocar que se meta la 82 division aerotransportada.
porque las cosas que hacen y dicen es lo que hace y dice todo el mundo
en la cola del pan
cada mañana. incluso sin malas palabras. por el tipo de sociedad,
por la leyenda invencible creada (o por marti, vayase a ver) existe la
percepcion popular de que cada disidente es un agente doble, y que se
sabra algun dia. entonces todos son heroes. de hecho muchos disidentes
-incluyendo ese lider desconocido muerto contra un arbol en un accidente
automovilistico- entraba y salia como pedro por su casa. y el del
sillon fue un viajero incansable decadas atras. dentro de cuba, el
pueblo piensa que los opositores verdaderos estan en miami que es donde
se plantea el meollo: guerra y paz. la cosa se vuelve -para la
mentalidad isleña- novela fantasiosa de h.g.wells (la guerra de los
mundos) y karel kapek (la guerra de las salamandras). la verdad es que
en la mas larga temporada de vacas flacas y tiempo muerto (peor que las
de grau, prio y batista) el gobierno cubano opto por empezar a vender
pasaportes para que se largue quien tenga ruta o pais de destino. cuba
lo mismo exporta internacionalistas que transfiere descontentos. en fin,
excreta a su propio pueblo, lo manda a que vaya a joder a otra esquina,
a piquetear en otra plaza.

in cuba talks about go to live out of the country as in miami you talk
about go to fish the weekend. the plans for the future pose outside.
even those who think to return want to be 24 months out wherever, to get
back with some money. and as the war is now virtual in cyberspace, the
population cares a damn about that battle because the enemy landed on
the computer, not on the beach; it bombarded the email, not the city. to
the hell who wants to read dumbness and in top of that, to believe it.
this mindset is positive. look out for the armed forces, who are
unemployed and will have problem for the entry-exit. starting because a
disproportionate army not kept without shooting overseas and the idle
soldiers become whimps. air force fumigating and navy fishing lobster
requires a dose of imagination and discipline, which doesn't have the
third world warrior. but despite this, because cuba has been constantly
attacked by something or someone, its whole structure is a country
besieged, in conflict, penetrated by enemies, in constant movement of
intelligence and perennial defense against foreign evil. remember that
the external badness now is the internet, but before there were other
foreign evils, and the penultimate was miami's terrorism. that's why
there are 5 heroes embedded in walls and billboards. it's a reminder to
the external evil, not to national heroism. but people is not explained
as 1 hero received permission to go to the island and then returned to
miami. as he is supposed to be hero, it's a symbol for the cuban people,
and there is the double edge sword. miami, as golden chimera, is the
center of everything: the evil and the good. in miami there is the
traitor, the prosperity and the hero. 3 things together are not
assimilated by the people. and for this reason, by billiard carom they
digest the avocados fast, anti-establishment bloggers, dissidents with
bags of american embassy and lunches in monserrate house as extensions of
the hero returning to miami. it's the total demoralization. the people
questioned if the hero is as hero (hero will be if he stays in cuba), and
if those people painted as bad on television are -in truth- so dangerous, if
they are able to hack the bus terminal, get into the central
committee intranet and fuck the snack to the bosses or with a street dog fight cause that it will get the 82 airborne division. because the things
that they do and say is what does and says everyone in the every morning line
of the bread. even without bad words. by the type of society, by the
invincible created legend (or by marti, go to see) there is a popular
perception that every dissident is a double agent, and it will be known some
day. then they are all heroes. in fact many dissidents -including that
unknown leader killed against a tree in a car accident- was coming and
going as he owned the place. and that one with the chair was a tireless
traveler decades ago. inside cuba, people thinks real opponents are in
miami that is where the heart is: war and peace. the thing becomes -for
the island mentality- as a fanciful novel by h.g.wells (the war of the
worlds) and karel kapek (the war of salamanders). the truth is that in
the longest season of lean cows and down time (worse than the grau's, prio's and
batista's) the cuban government chose to start selling passports that
will snap anyone having a route or a destination country. cuba the same
exports internationalists that transfers malcontents. finally, it's
excreted its own people, it sends them to go to fuck to another corner,
